You forced upon me all the things I did
flee,
You’ll lead me astray, across mountains and
sea,
Off the beaten trail, to a realm of
dream,
Taken with the wild, and the wilderness
stream,

Halting my anxious and lily-livered
flight,
Forgiving me of my sins, clinching the
night,
Allowing me to indulge in body and
soul,
Taking from me my cherished self-
control,

Chasing those falls, who’s supply never
ends,
Man is mortal, but the wild always
transcends,
Feeding my wanderlust, and lust of the
flesh,
Those things once old, now once again become
fresh,

Dragging me up mountains, to peaks with smiles and
glee,
Ignoring the inevitable end we both
foresee,
But pleasantly embracing the present with
esteem,
Taken with the wild, and the wilderness
stream.
